That's good stuff, man! I enjoyed it.

Re: Is My Family Great?

I'm with you, Stacy-I can't picture Craver as quiet either. My sister was "quiet" but only because she knew how to be quiet and good when my folks were around :)

Mark-I've posted!!!

Re: Is My Family Great?

Fredricksburg! Now I have a picture and a geographic location. I'd stalk, but it's too far to swim. Great looking family. I think it's one thing that it's OK to say you're proud of. :)

Craver, your rubberband/hymnal comment cracked me up and inspired a post to boot. Really? You were quiet as a kid? I'm still not seeing it.

Re: Is My Family Great?

Eve, consider yourself tagged then! I'm not good at tagging folks with memes, but I'd love to see your family.

That goes for the rest of you...

Craver and Mark, sadly I must confess to wearing the hat in church. It is the staple costume feature of a recurring character I created for the children's program... named Captain Starbucks Bumblemonkey.

Bumblemonkey made his first appearance when he abducted the lady announcing our new childrens' program on Wednesday nights. I tied her up and everything. The kids loved it.

My favorite Bumblemonkey skit is the Five Minute Exodus (with Pirates).

Jesus didn't wear a hat in the Christmas pageant, thank goodness. I did wear a nasty crown of thorns at one point though.

Re: Is My Family Great?

Did Jesus wear that red hat?

Mark D. Then, it's a whole new ballgame!

Ahh, maybe that's a deterence....

Great family pic, Mark! I feel inspired to do the same....

Re: Is My Family Great?

It's a lovely family portrait! And my goodness, you all look so young - I supposed that I thought the picture you normally post was an older one and now you were gray and wise - guess we'll just have to stop short of gray.

I would imagine your wife knew which substantive you meant - and what a lovely complement - to be spiritually substantive.

Re: Is My Family Great?

It is a nice idea to see pictures of the people whose thoughts I read daily. Like putting a brain with a face.

Such a sweet family, too!

Re: Is My Family Great?

You don't wear that hat at church, do you? I'll bet you do, and you sit towards the front. That's why I carry heavy-duty rubber bands. Wrap one or two around a sturdy hymnal and you got yourself a handy-dandy hat-remover.

Please take this as a compliment, but I hope you guys have more kids.

Re: Is My Family Great?

Shhhhhh, Mary! Don't say "enlarge your family" too loud. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, here's something fun: Office Max (at their counters) is giving away FREE posters of one of your favorite shots (24x36). Pick up the coupon there. You can enlarge your family!

Mary

Mary E. I guess substantive may not have been the best choice of compliments--but I meant it in a spiritual and intellectual sense rather than a physical one.

I'm just going to keep digging this hole...

Re: Is My Family Great?

Marcus

You are a blessed man!

Great family - beautiful kids, loving wife and the grace of God upon your life. Your kids are beautiful. And it's lovely to meet your wife. I'm guessing my wife would love it if I described her as substantive.

Hey, thanks for sharing your lovely family. And thanks for answering the tag.

Re: Is My Family Great?

I played Jesus in the Christmas pageant that year. So I tried to grow a beard. I had just started trying at this point.

Let's hope the Son of God was better with facial hair than me--since he created it.

Re: Is My Family Great?

Is that you... with... a ... beard?

Yes, btw, your family is great.

L.L.
