You got stuck in Akismet for a few days. I dusted off your comments and rescued them though. Strange that you landed there. It's a dark dank place, with too many links to other dark dank places.

Re: Meme Week: Thinking Blogger

Sorry comments are so slow from me this week. I'm scrambling to get ready for a blog convention. But I appreciate all of your thoughts! You were supposed to be a blog I liked. But somehow the annotation about you got lost. I knew you and others had been tagged, so I tried to deflect all tags into the comments section.

And ended up confusing people. Oh well.

Re: Meme Week: Thinking Blogger

Karin, I like Kent's blog a lot. In fact, I found it through you originally.

And he did the best thing. When I commented there, he emailed to thank me. Not a big thing, but man did it get my attention.

Re: Meme Week: Thinking Blogger

You all are the best. I had a meeting out at the Canyon yesterday. (It was tough, but someone had to do it.)

Let me start with Llamamomma. She asks, "How do you handle punctuation after a URL?"

Good question.

There are lots of style manuals to look for the answer. I suspect each one will give you a different answer. CMA (Chicago Manual of Style) is pretty much the publication industry standard. I always go to it first.

In section 17.10 on "URLS and punctuation" it says, "A 'trailing slash,' the last character in a URL pointing to a directory, is part of the URL. Other punctuation markes used following a URL will readily be perceived as belonging to the surrounding text."

So use the period if it is at the end of a sentence.

Or better yet, don't show the URL at all. Since you made Erika's site into a hyperlink with an "a href" tag, I assume you know how to do this. Just create an appropriate noun phrase. Like Karin H. did in her comment with Kent's name.

Re: Meme Week: Thinking Blogger

ESI, that what we call obssessed, around here :)

Re: Meme Week: Thinking Blogger

Here's the link to Ted's blog - Jesus Community

http://www.communityofjesus.blogspot.com/

Re: Meme Week: Thinking Blogger

I concur with your nomination of LL's blog. If I add a period after Erika's blog address, won't that screw people up if they try to cut and paste her address?
