    So the trick might be to find the content-of-note and advertise next to that (but not necessarily!).

    I found the article intriguing for other reasons. Clearly, user-generated content has the power to influence and this is something marketers do well to notice.

    This revenge of the experts stuff sounds like crap to me. It sounds pretty desperate. It sounds like a bunch of "experts" who wonder if they say something loudly enough and over and over, we'll believe it.

    Why not? That's what traditional media has been doing for years. It's called spin and the pros do it better than anyone else..

    So the quote stands true, but perhaps not in the way they intended.

    LL, it sounds like you're talking about niche marketing and niche advertising. That's essentially the direction we're thinking for HighCallingBlogs.com. We hope it will gradually represent the niche of bloggers interested in issues of Christianity and the workplace.

    Also, this new article from eMarketer "projects US user-generated content ad revenues of $824 million in 2012, up from $162 million in 2007."

    But then it qualifies that this revenue will likely come from video-sharing sites and social network sites like youtube, facebook, and myspace (do people still use MySpace??)
